MIT Technology Review publishes an
interview with Bjarne Stroustrup, the original designer of C++. He reflects generally on the quality of software and the design philosophy he used with C++.

The reasons why it doesn't change as rapidly as some other technologies is well explained in the second part of the Stroustrup article you linked to (thanks!).
The relative stability of C++ is at least as much to its advantage as the other way around.
I think it's a great language, it just requires about 10 years of experience before you learn to use it right.
